‘None of us have much time. And yet you act as if things were eternal’
A 2 minute check in to kick-start your week
The Monday Morning Stand-up #15
‘None of us have much time. And yet you act as if things were eternal’
Most of the tasks we undertake, activities we participate in and conversations we partake in are non-essential. Worse yet, they are non-impactful on a personal or societal level, yet we waste our precious time on them because we fall into the age-old trap of thinking our time on this planet is infinite.
In the words of Al Pacino in ‘Any Given Sunday’:
‘You know when you get old in life things get taken from you. That's, that's part of life.
But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff.’
Don’t waste your most precious commodity on the mediocre. Eliminate the non-essential and non-fulfilling diligently in favour of the meaningful and impactful.
You’ll have more time, and more importantly more tranquillity.
At every moment, ask:
‘Is this necessary?’
(Marcus Aurelius)
Have a great week!
David.
